金色的十月即将来临，祖国的生日——国庆节又向我们招手，在我们为放假高兴的时候，不要忘了我们是中国人!

这就引出来我今天要讲的主题——“胜不骄败不馁”。古人曾说过：“胜者不骄傲，败者不气馁。”讲的就是这个道理，当你经过自己的一番努力取得成功的时候，决不可沾沾自喜，骄傲于世，目中无人，而应该总结成功的经验，再接再厉，向更高、更好的目标而努力奋斗;当你遇到挫折与失败的时候，决不能灰心伤气，破罐子破摔，而应该仔细检查自己做的事情，从中找出原因，不断总结，就会从一个失败走向成功。失败并不可怕，可怕的是我们不能从中意识到自己的不足。我们常说“失败是成功之母”，讲得就是通往成功的道路上，失败有时也是不可避免的。

我们刚刚进行了期中考试，由于各个学生的基础不一样，有的同学通过自己的努力取得了优异的成绩，而有的同学觉得自己的成绩不理想，没有达到自己的目标。这样就出现了两种心态的同学。考试好的同学会欢欣鼓舞，但绝不可骄傲，还要继续前进;考试暂时不理性的同学不要悲观失望，查漏补缺，终究会取得优异的成绩。我想告诉大家的是：考试只是一种检测手段，通过它反映开学以来你对所学知识的掌握程度，分数的高低只能代表过去，不能代表将来。只要你能从考试中分析自己的失败的原因，总结自己的不足之处，相信在以后的考试中你一定会名列前茅的。

在我们的日常学习和生活中，要保持一个良好的心态，做到胜不骄败不馁。我真心地希望每位同学，在以后的学习中，要克服学习上的困难，知难而上，勇攀高峰，力争做到：课前要认真预习，准备好必备的学习用品;课上要积极思考，大胆发言，不懂就问;课后要及时复习，认真完成老师布置的课堂、家庭作业。作业书写工整，作业要独立完成，作业要尽量不错，错了要立即订正。我们坚信，只要同学们努力去做，期末考试一定能考出优异的成。

一句句安慰与鼓励的话，一次次批评和责怪的体验全是父母的良苦用心啊!说到这句话就让我想起父母对我一点一滴的关心和爱护。记得有一次晚上，我发起了高烧，全身像火烧一样，肚子也疼的难受得不得了，在床上翻来覆去，又吐又泻。鼻血也不停地流了出来。我喊了爸爸妈妈，妈妈跑过来搂着我，爸爸先想办法给我止住了鼻血，然后又给我找药，倒上温开水喂我吃药，过了一阵，症状有所减轻，爸爸妈妈才松了一口气。爸爸妈妈守在我地身边哄着我渐渐入睡。第二天早晨，我醒了，睁开眼，只见妈妈还抱着我，爸爸靠在我身旁，我顿时感到暖暖的。

我的爸爸很“傻”，他会傻到在雨天不顾自己冒着滂沱大雨来学校接我回家;他会傻到在炎炎夏日不顾炎热为我做可口的饭菜;他会傻到在我学习遇到困难时，不厌其烦一遍又一遍的给我讲解解题方法，直到让我弄懂为止;他会傻到在我拿到第一笔稿费时，向我竖起大拇指和我一起欢呼;他会傻到花钱带我去旅游，让我缓解学习带来的压力，他会傻到站在窗前望着我上学……

But now in university, one of my classmates changed my idea. At the career planning class when asked about our dreams, one of my classmates stood up and said, I want to be a peasant because I grow up in a peasant family and I love it. No laughter, no criticism, he was the only who winned a clapping.

It is such an honor and pleasure for me to be back at Yale, especially on the occasion of the 300th anniversary. I have had so many memories of my time here, and as Nick was speaking I thought about how I ended up at Yale Law School. And it tells a little bit about how much progress we’ve made.

What I think most about when I think of Yale is not just the politically charged atmosphere and not even just the superb legal education that I received. It was at Yale that I began work that has been at the core of what I have cared about ever since. I began working with New Haven legal services representing children. And I studied child development, abuse and neglect at the Yale New Haven Hospital and the Child Study Center. I was lucky enough to receive a civil rights internship with Marian Wright Edelman at the Children’s Defense Fund, where I went to work after I graduated. Those experiences fueled in me a passion to work for the benefit of children, particularly the most vulnerable.

When I was thinking about running for the United States Senate-which was such an enormous decision to make, one I never could have dreamed that I would have been making when I was here on campus-I visited a school in New York City and I met a young woman, who was a star athlete.

I was there because of Billy Jean King promoting an HBO special about women in sports called “Dare to compete.” It was about Title IX and how we finally, thanks to government action, provided opportunities to girls and women in sports.

So, dare to compete, yes, but maybe even more difficult, dare to care. Dare to care about people who need our help to succeed and fulfill their own lives. There are so many out there and sometimes all it takes is the simplest of gestures or helping hands and many of you understand that already. I know that the numbers of graduates in the last 20 years have worked in community organizations, have tutored, have committed themselves to religious activities.

Community service and religious involvement being up. But if you look at the area of voting among 18 to 29 year olds, the numbers tell a far more troubling tale. Many of you I know believe that service and community volunteerism is a better way of solving the issues facing our country than political engagement, because you believe-choose one of the following multiples or choose them all-government either can’t understand or won’t make the right choices because of political pressures, inefficiency, incompetence or big money influence.

Well, I admit there is enough truth in that critique to justify feeling disconnected and alienated. But at bottom, that’s a personal cop-out and a national peril. Political conditions maximize the conditions for individual opportunity and responsibility as well as community. Americorps and the Peace Corps exist because of political decisions. Our air, water, land and food will be clean and safe because of political choices. Our ability to cure disease or log onto the Internet have been advanced because of politically determined investments. Ethnic cleansing in Kosovo ended because of political leadership. Your parents and grandparents traveled here by means of government built and subsidized transportation systems. Many used GI Bills or government loans, as I did, to attend college.

Now, I could, as you might guess, go on and on, but the point is to remind us all that government is us and each generation has to stake its claim. And, as stakeholders, you will have to decide whether or not to make the choice to participate. It is hard and it is, bringing change in a democracy, particularly now. There’s so much about our modern times that conspire to lower our sights, to weaken our vision-as individuals and communities and even nations.

It is not the vast conspiracy you may have heard about; rather it’s a silent conspiracy of cynicism and indifference and alienation that we see every day, in our popular culture and in our prodigious consumerism.

And I leave these graduates with the same message I hope to leave with my graduate. Dare to compete. Dare to care. Dare to dream. Dare to love. Practice the art of making possible. And no matter what happens, even if you hear shouts behind, keep going.

We are all Chinese people, living on the earth. We have only one motherland——China, just like we have only one earth. If we dont beautify our environment, who will? Good environment depends on good human consciousness. We should say that protecting our surroundings is not easy, thats why Im standing here to summon people do it.

你蓦然发现你已长大，无已复加的不可逃避地已成了一个所谓的“大人”。你有了你的自由，你却又被禁锢在狭窄逼仄中困难地翻身，大声地喘息几乎窒息。你有你的个性，你却又被时代的潮流所磨炼，把你一块有棱有角的顽石磨成圆滑、平凡的鹅卵石，随波逐流。你有了你的思想，你却又被灌输着一些很奇怪的伟大的思想，把你的愤世嫉俗变成热爱祖国。不知不觉中，一点一滴，无声无息地把你变成了另外一个你，你慢慢地每天都接受一点新的你，于是你被腐蚀得只剩行尸走肉的躯壳，原来的你已被现在的你所代替，只是肉身是相等的，精神和灵魂却是以前的那个你所鄙夷的，你最终无可奈何不得不接受了这个很现实的事实。

我只是想说：你在被别人认为长大的话语中认为自己长大了。首先，看你七尺男儿顶天立地，钟鸣般的声音穿堂过境，大方有力的动作豪放具有成熟气息。你在成长，这些变化是天经地义勿庸置疑的。只是你童心依旧，不想关心也就没有关心你的变化。于是你还像一般，去追逐打闹，去抢机子上网，去整日无所事事，去穿着超肥短裤超大背心去运动场上驰骋，你只是依照你以前的生活方式去生活今天的生活，你认为没有什么不对的。

你为你的游戏升级而自豪，为你的球技进步而高兴，为你的玩乐而欢快。你不注意你已不同往昔，许多都不一样了，不是吗?你也不像以前那样单纯，在做以前做的事时已不再有以前的激情，你有一丝滞泄，不知从何而来，你开始思索。直到，有人说你已长大，接着再夸奖你一番，你不好意思地腼腆一笑，还很青涩。当许多人如此说你时，你质疑：我真的已长大?你的手不经意间碰到你的下巴，几根硬硬的胡须落户在此，你一照镜子，唇上不知什么时候有青黑的一道，你五官端正，浓眉大眼，鼻子高挺，嘴唇削薄，下巴变得瘦了，有棱有角煞是英俊。

当你意识到你已长大，你不再像以前拖着高大的个子去抢机子，不再打闹。你开始稳重，是在别人的评论和自己自觉与不自觉的思想与行动中。你开始承担责任，是在老师和家长的教导中。你开始关注分数，为你的前途，外界的压力也一点一点大了。你学会干一些以前不想干的事情，为了你的交际和名声。于是你变了，也慢慢地习惯这种变化，喜欢上了以前不喜欢但别人很喜欢的东西，你觉得其实这也不错。一切就这么下去吧。你偶尔望着湛蓝的天空想。

这样，世上少一个单纯的孩子，多了一个平凡的人，其实以前孩子也很平凡，只是他认为自己不平凡，但现在他也认为自己很平凡了。

这就是成长的真谛吗?他偶尔也想，只是平静如水。

我们每一个人都是抱着曾经对大学的憧憬并怀揣着梦想迈进大学校门，然而当我们发现真正的大学生活并没有想象中美好的同时各种困难也如期而至。苏轼有云：“古之立大事者，不惟有超世之才，亦必有坚韧不拔之志”。经历了一整月的军训，我们体会得到军人的坚毅和执著，虽然过程很痛苦，但更是一种收获。竞选班干的失败，让我懂得成功不一定就要靠成绩，大学里，能力也至关重要。应聘创e工作室的失败，虽然很不甘心但是依然找出了自己和别人之间的差距。失败并不可怕，可怕的是经历了失败之后我们没有得到经验和教训。人最大的收获莫过于在失败中得到胜利的钥匙。天将降大任于是人也，必先苦其心志，劳其筋骨，饿其体肤。失败不会把我打到反而会让我反思，让我成长。失败让我的下一步迈的更有力量。

都说迷茫是青春玻然而刚刚进入大学的我们最应该想明白的问题就是“我是谁”“我要干什么”“我能干什么”。大学就是成长道路上自我定位的一个阶段，我们要在这段时间想清楚自己到底想要什么，只有找准目标和方向前方的路才会更好走。我们不能一直处于幻想的象牙塔中，我们要鼓起勇气去拥抱蓝天。虽然坎坷不断但至少这样的生活却充实而精彩。不是一番寒彻骨，怎得梅花扑鼻香呢?大学中的我们就要像梅花一样，逆境成长，坚定信念，找准定位。坚持理想，汲取阳光。当我们回首来时看过的风景走过的'路，就便是成长的过程。

We complain about how fragile our friendship is， how little people know about us， how unfair the life is，etc. It seems that every time we fail， we blame it to the tough conditions we’re in， while never notice a problem inside ourselves， that we’re never satisfied.

Let’s just imagine that there was an old lady. What she sees was her neighbors’ being mean again while not how kind they were when they took care of her sick body. What she saw was her dog’s annoying barking while not how much loyalty it had shown.What she saw was always so depressing that it finally turned her into an unpleasant person. Think about how our life would be if we stand in her shoe.

Why don’t we focus our attention on how much we’ve already got in stead? You know it’s really simple to do as there’s a tremendous amount of examples. Like the popular Jetpack Joy Ride on your Iphone， you can enjoy it whenever you like， whereas in some poor area people don’t even know such thing as Iphone.

Actually we should be thankful about the richness we’ve got， thankful that with each sunrise taking place we don’t need to starve to call it a day， thankful that the people we love are still in health， that we still got much to hold on. As a saying on website，” The world is tough， but I’m tougher.” What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.

Every day is a gift from life， all we need is to accept it， cherish the lessons life has taught us， so as to achieve our goal with high spirit. In this way， someday when we leave the world， we leave no regrets.

学会感恩，就会懂得尊重他人，发现自我价值。懂得感恩，就少了歧视，就会以平等的眼光看待整个生命。重新看待我们身边每个人，尊重每一份平凡普通的劳动，也更加尊重自己，在现代社会这个分工越来越细的巨大链条上，每一个人都有自己的职责，自己的价值，每一个人有意、无意间都在为他人付出，当我们感谢他人的佳言善行时，第一个反应常常是今后自己应该怎样做，怎样做得更好，也许只是一种单纯的回报心理，然而对于整个社会则是非常有意义的良性循环。

可是，我们有些人的感恩之心似乎在慢慢趋于隐匿，取而代之的是无休止的抱怨。拥有了关爱我们的亲人，我们却抱怨他们太过唠叨;交到了真心以待的知己，我们却抱怨他们还不够朋友;过上了平淡安稳的日子，我们却抱怨它不够富裕……由于抱怨太多，我们失去了做人的准则，由于抱怨太多，我们忘记了感恩，忘记了我们是从何处来要到何处去，我们是从母亲的怀里来，是我们的母亲忍受着十月怀胎的艰苦和生产的痛苦，期待我们降临人间，随着我们在人世间的第一声响亮的啼哭，母亲就开始日复一日，年复一年，无休无止的为我们操心，操劳，无怨无悔。
